At 'Em In Autumn

Fall is here. That mean less light, more chill, and the onslaught of particular seasonal affectations from which many of us suffer. Now, two years ago, I would have been feeling this anxiety that I kind of always get from the fact that winter is coming and immediately sought shelter in my local mall. This year, I have to be more creative. Who knew that being an adult could sap so much expendable income?

This new fall season means lots of good home cooking (eating out is so expensive/unhealthy), going to the gym instead of the bar (actually getting to the gym is easier when you think of it as recreation!) and spending some good quality time with my brain.

Mental fitness and physical fitness are both extremely important in staying healthy. Successful aging these days is less a matter of luck, and more a matter of taking care of our bodies. We have the knowledge and technology to extend and improve life!

With the increased life span, of course there will have to be many changes; I however, am neither scientist nor politician, so I will leave those be. My simple point is that it may be a fabulous idea to run down to that cute bookshop on the corner a couple blocks from your house, grab something you think looks interesting, and dive in. Reading is like yoga for your brain. Bonus! It also gives you something interesting to say to that super cute shy/nerdy girl/guy you've had your eye on. (Warning: if you're going to try this, perhaps think about your comment before you lay it on said romancee. We introverts can be funny about things).

No matter how you decide to exercise that muscle in your noggin, remember to enjoy it! There are so many different ways to flex that brain that everyone can find one that they enjoy. Maybe you'll even learn German! Or you know, whatever.

The more well exercised our brains become, the better off we all are. Nobody doesn't like that!

Happy learning! I'd love to hear what y'all are doing for cranial gains! Leave it below or shoot me a message!
